Boer, Francijntje (1784-1852)

Francijntje Boer was a Dutch Mennonite poet, b. 18 October 1784, at Harlingen, d. 7 March 1852 at Heerenveen. She published Dichtproeven (1815); Nieuwe Dichtproeven (1821); Gedichtjes voor kinderen (1812); Gedichtjes voor behoeftige kinderen (1823); and Laat ons leven tot elkanders nut en genoegen (1850). She was not well-to-do; she earned the family's subsistence as a needle-woman and a cook-housekeeper.
