Bloomfield Hutterite Colony was founded in 1954 [1](Hofer says 1957) as a division from the Riverside (Manitoba) Hutterite Colony (Arden, Manitoba, Canada).

Daughter colonies of Bloomfield Hutterite Colony include: Marble Ridge Hutterite Colony (Hodgson, Manitoba, Canada) and Westroc Hutterite Colony (Westbourne, Manitoba, Canada).

In 2025 the Bloomfield Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.
