The Eastern Mennonite Board of Missions and Charities began a mission outreach in Cambridge, southwest of Honey Brook, Pennsylvania in 1946. The Paradise Bishop District of the Lancaster Mennonite Conference began with Summer Bible School, as well as preaching services on Sunday evenings at the Cambridge Community Chapel. This was a chapel originally built in 1901.

By the early 1950s, the Weaverland District provided oversight to this mission and regular, every-two-week worship services.

By 2009, Sunday morning attendance was about 70, and the congregation was considering additional renovations to the building. Cambridge Mennonite was part of the Martindale District.
