Sunrise Hutterite Colony in Etzikom, Alberta, was founded in 1978 as a division from the Sunny Site Hutterite Colony.

A daughter colony of the Sunrise Hutterite Colony is the Silver Sage Hutterite Colony (Nemiskam, Alberta, Canada).

In 2024 Sunrise Hutterite Colony was a Lehrerleut colony.
