Toto Mennonite Church (North Judson, Indiana, USA)
In 1946, the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Mission Board asked the Salem Mennonite Church, New Paris, Indiana, to conduct a church survey in the village of Toto. Salem conducted a Summer Bible School in the Gleaners Hall in 1947 and built a basement church that was dedicated on 28 August 1948. Preaching services began once a month late that year. Salem completed the building and dedicated it on 23 March 1952.
Three Salem families moved to Toto in 1950 and began evening worship services in the church.
When the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference approved the ordination of women in 1981, Toto Mennonite Church and its mother congregation, Salem Mennonite, withdrew from the conference. Toto Mennonite then became an independent Mennonite congregation.
