Wintering Hills Hutterite Colony in Hussar, Alberta, was founded in 2001 as a division from the Sunshine Hutterite Colony.

A daughter colony of the Wintering Hills Hutterite Colony is the Luseland Hutterite Colony (Luseland, Saskatchewan, Canada).

In 2023 Wintering Hills Hutterite Colony was a Dariusleut colony.
