Ridgeland Hutterite Colony was founded in 1967 (Hofer states 1965)[1] as a division from the Springfield Hutterite Colony.

Daughter colonies of the Ridgeland Hutterite Colony include: Maple Grove Hutterite Colony (Lauder, Manitoba, Canada); and Silverwinds Hutterite Colony (Sperling, Manitoba, Canada).

In 2023 Ridgeland Colony was a  Schmiedeleut Group 1 colony.
