The Evangelical Mennonite Church, Fort Dodge, Iowa, USA, began in 1953 as a mission outreach of the Manson Mennonite Church. In fall 1953 the Manson Mennonite Church launched the East Lawn Acres Sunday School in a private home in Fort Dodge after holding a successful Summer Bible School there.

In August 1957, the Iowa-Nebraska Mennonite Mission Board decided to purchase a former Evangelical United Brethren building and parsonage in downtown Fort Dodge. It began to raise funds and completed the purchase in September 1958. On 21 September 1958, the congregation formally organized. It held a dedication service of the facilities on 2 November 1958.

In 1995 the congregation purchased a former Presbyterian church which it used until it closed.

As part of the realignment of the Mennonite Church (MC) and General Conference Mennonite Church into Mennonite Church USA, Evangelical Mennonite was among the congregations that joined the new Central Plains Mennonite Conference in 2000.

Evangelical Mennonite Church closed in 2008; the building was bought by a performing arts school.
