Brightstone Hutterite Colony was founded in 1959 as a division from the Maxwell Hutterite Colony.

Decker (Decker, Manitoba, Canada) is a daughter colony.

In 2023 Brightstone Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 1 colony.
