Scott Mennonite Church (Scott City, Kansas, USA)
The Scott Mennonite Church northwest of Scott City, Kansas, USA was established in 1945. There had been several earlier attempts at a congregation in the area. In 1918 Tobias A. Unruh's family, with six other families, came to the area but moved away within a year or two because of grasshopper infestations. In the 1930s another six families moved to the Scott City area, but all had left by 1944. Minister Albert Dirks and his family were the first to arrive of the new group in 1943, soon followed by a number of other families.
The congregation formally organized on 17 June 1945 at a time when eight families were part of the community. A new church building was completed and dedicated on 27 January 1946. A new and larger church was built and dedicated on 1 March 1970.
In 1976 twelve families from the Sharon Spring area formed the Sharon Springs Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. They had been driving up to 70 miles to attend the Scott church.
The Sunny Plains School began in the church fellowship hall in 1979. A separate school building was completed in time for the 1984/85 year.
In 2020 the congregation was part of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. The ministers were Charles Nightengale, Daniel Koehn, and Franklin Koehn.

Scott Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church, located 12 miles north and 7 miles west of Scott City, Scott County, Kansas, began in 1943, and was organized in 1945, at which time a house of worship was built. In 1957 it had 93 members, with Ervin Nightengale and Albert Dirks as the ministers in charge.
