Standoff Hutterite Colony in Fort MacLeod, Alberta, was founded in 1918 as a division from the Spink (South Dakota) Hutterite Colony.

Daughter colonies of the Standoff Hutterite Colony include: Granum Hutterite Colony (Granum, Alberta, Canada); Riverside Hutterite Colony (Glenwood, Alberta, Canada); [[Hardisty Hutterite Colony (Standoff, Alberta, Canada)|Hardisty Hutterite Colony (Standoff, Alberta, Canada); and Lamona Hutterite Colony (Lamona, Washington, USA).

In 2017 the Standoff Hutterite Colony was a Dariusleut colony.
