Pine Ridge Mennonite Church (Rutherfordton, North Carolina, USA)
The Pine Ridge Mennonite Church, Rutherfordton, North Carolina, USA, began in 1990, after the Pilgrim Mennonite Church in Amelia, Virginia began to explore starting another church. The first service in the Rutherfordton area was held in August 1987. The first families from the Pilgrim congregation moved to Rutherfordton at the end of December 1989. The congregation was formally established on 6 May 1990 with 14 members.
The first service in the present building was held 19 May 1991. Fred Mast from the Pilgrim congregation provided leadership the first year.
Pine Ridge began a school in 1989. In September 2013 there were three teachers and 22 students.
In 2018 the Pine Ridge Mennonite Church was part of the Nationwide Fellowship Churches and had 51 members. The ministerial team was composed of Ministers Wendell Miller and William Sommers and Deacon Melvin Mast.
