Verdant Valley Hutterite Colony near Drumheller, Alberta, was founded in 1974 as a division from the Hand Hills Hutterite Colony.

A daughter colony of the Verdant Valley Hutterite Colony is the Neu Muehl Hutterite Colony (Drumheller, Alberta, Canada).

In 2017 the Verdant Valley Hutterite Colony was a Lehrerleut colony.
