Upland Hutterite Colony in Letcher, South Dakota was founded in 1988 as a division from Spring Valley Hutterite Colony. A daughter colony of the Upland Hutterite Colony is the Elmendorf Hutterite Colony (Mountain Lake, Minnesota, USA). In 2017 the Upland Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.
