Springfield Hutterite Colony was founded as a division from the Poplar Point Hutterite Colony in 1950. A daughter colony of the Springfield Hutterite Colony is the Ridgeland Hutterite Colony(Dugald, Manitoba, Canada).
In 2017 Springfield Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 1 colony.
