Pearl Creek Hutterite Colony was founded in 1949 as a division from the Huron (Manitoba) Hutterite Colony.

Daughter colonies of the Pearl Creek Hutterite Colony include: Long Lake Hutterite Colony (Wetonka, South Dakota, USA), and Grassland Hutterite Colony (Leola, South Dakota, USA).

In 2017 the Pearl Creek Hutterite Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony.
