David Epp: minister and elder; born 15 June 1750 in Rosenort, Prussia, the eldest son and third of six children of Cornelius Epp (1728-1805) and Sara (Andres) Epp (1727-1764). David married for the first time on 6 June 1773 in Stadtgebiet, Prussia to Magdalena Kroecker (11 February 1752, Stadtgebiet, Prussia - 30 March 1780, Stadtgebiet, Prussia), daughter of Hans Kroecker (1729-1808) and Margaretha (Dyck) Kroecker (1726-1789). They had three children. David married for the second time 17 July 1780 to Anna Bergmann (4 January 1762, Rosenort, Prussia - 15 November 1796, Chortitza Colony, Russia), daughter of Bernhard and Anna (Wiebe) Bergmann. They had three children. David married for the third time to Judith Dyck (1770 - 14 April 1802, Chortitza Colony, Russia), widow of Jacob Breyel, and for the fourth time to Katarina Penner (b.ca. 1783) in July 1802. David died on 29 September 1802 in Rosenthal, Chortitza Colony, South Russia.

David immigrated in August 1789 from Danzig to Russia, was chosen as elder in 1793, and ordained in the following year by Cornelius Warkentin, who had come from Prussia for the purpose of ordaining him. He was sent with Gerhard Willms to St. Petersburg, 29 June 1798, and after waiting there over two years procured the charter of privileges from Emperor Paul I on 6 Septenber 1800.
