Spring Lake Hutterite Colony was founded in 1978 as a division from Wolf Creek Hutterite Colony in Freeman, South Dakota. In 2012 Spring Lake Colony was a Schmiedeleut Group 2 colony. The minister was Simon Decker Jr., and the manager was Paul Decker.
