Goris Cooman (d. 1551)
Goris (Joris) Cooman, an Anabaptist martyr, of Lier in Brabant, Belgium, was burned at the stake on 11 April 1551 at Ghent, with Naentken (Bornaige), Grietgen (Margriete van den Berghe), and Wouter (van der Weyden). These martyrs are celebrated in a hymn, "Doemen vijftienhondert schreve, daertoe een en vijftich jaer," found in the Liedtboecxken van den Offer des Heeren (No. 4).
