Jan de Schaper, an Anabaptist martyr, according to van Braght burned at the stake in 1569 at Antwerp, Belgium. Génard, who studied the documents of Antwerp, did not find the name of Jan de Schaper. We suggest that Jan de Schaper is identical with Jacques Semou, not mentioned by van Braght, and burned at the stake at Antwerp on 19 March 1569.
