Henrick Herckemaiker (Hendrik Herckmaker), a Dutch Anabaptist, originally from Giethoorn, Dutch province of Overijssel, was beheaded at Leeuwarden, Friesland, on 27 September 1544. He had been baptized 10 years before by Henrick van Zutphen (see Hendrik Kistemaecker) as a follower of the revolutionary leader Jan van Batenburg. After Batenburg's death (1538) he had adopted the views of David Joris.
