Pilgrim Mennonite Conference

The Pilgrim Mennonite Conference was organized in 1991, several months before 22 ordained men, including bishops H. Stephen Ebersole, Sidney B. Gingerich, and Aaron M. Shank, were released from their membership in the Eastern Pennsylvania Mennonite Church (EPMC). They believed that the Eastern Pennsylvania denomination had become too legalistic in its church discipline, and they desired more activities for their youth.

The denomination has carried out mission work in Honduras through Honduras Mission, operated Pilgrim Mennonite Bible School in Kokomo, Mississippi, and maintained the Shepherd’s Fold program for released prisoners.

In 2010 the Pilgrim Mennonite Conference had 1,484 members in 24 congregations:
