Jacob Peeters (in the official records Jacob Peeters Aertssone), by trade a cooper, was burned at the stake at Antwerp, Belgium on 22 October 1551. (The Offer des Heeren and later martyrbooks, including van Braght's Martyrs' Mirror, give the date as 2 October.) No particulars are known about this martyr, except that he admitted that he had been (re) baptized and he was not willing to recant. He died with Pieter (Peter) Bruynen and three other brethren. Van Braght does not report the name of Jacob Peeters, but states that on the same day still "another brother" was executed. This unknown martyr must have been Jacob Peeters.
