Beetken van Brugh (official name Betken Laureys), an Anabaptist martyr, was put to death on 13 November 1562 (van Braght erroneously has 15 August 1561), with six others at Antwerp. Beetken was drowned. Further particulars are lacking. In the Tweede Liedboeck a song is found commemorating these faithful witnesses, which begins with the words, "Lieve broeders, wij groeten u met sangen," published by Wackernagel.
