Marinus van Dale, an Anabaptist martyr, drowned on 31 October 1563 in the Steen castle at Antwerp, Belgium, because he had been rebaptized and "pertinaciously persisted in the doctrines of the Anabaptists." His property, some furniture and a few tools, was confiscated and publicly sold on 27 June 1562. Hence Marinus must have been imprisoned before this date.
