Ministers' Bible Week
Ministers' Bible Week, an annual institution, usually held on a college campus for the ministers and interested laymen and students of the community, for which occasion special speakers or Bible expositors are invited. The first Bible Week in connection with Bethel College took place in 1915 after the initiative had been taken at the Western District Conference session in October 1914. This Bible Week was originally held in connection with a course for ministers and Sunday-school workers. In 1952-1953 J. E. Hartzler endowed a lectureship in connection with the Bible Week, which was known as the Hartzler Bible Lectureship. A similar Bible Week was being held at Tabor, Freeman, and Bluffton colleges. The Canadian Mennonite Bible College and the Mennonite Brethren Bible College of Winnipeg as well as the Gretna Collegiate Institute and Rosthern Junior College and the many other academies and Bible schools conducted a Bible Week for their students and constituency. Spiritual and intellectual guidance and stimulation have been given.
