Jacob Fast: elder of the Orloff-Petershagen Mennonite Church in the Molotschna Mennonite Settlement; born ca. 1772 in Prussia, the son of Jacob Fast. Jacob married Elisabeth Warkentin (b. ca. 1774) and they had eight children: Agatha, Jacob (died young), Elisabeth, Jacob, Abraham, Peter, Johann, and Anna. Jacob died on 9 November 1820 in Halbstadt.

Jacob immigrated from Neuteicherhinterfeld, Prussia to the Molotschna Mennonite Settlement in 1803 and settled in the village of Halbstadt. He was elected as a Minister in the Orloff Mennonite Church in 1805 and became Aeltester (Elder) in 1818, succeeding Jakob Enns. Fast served for only two years until his death in 1820.
