Peter J. Boehr was born 2 April 1886 to John and Anna Regier Boehr in Henderson, Nebraska. He attended public school in Henderson, received his state teacher's certificate from York College in 1908, and attended a Bible training school in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Bethel Academy (1910) and Bethel College (AB, 1913), Kansas. He obtained a graduate certificate from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1925. He married Jennie Gottshall, from Bluffton, Ohio, in 1915. Peter and Jennie went to China as missionaries in 1915. They had six children. Jennie died in 1936. Peter married Frieda Sprunger from Berne, Indiana in 1937. Peter 's mission work included educational and evangelistic endeavors. He died in Berne on 22 December 1973.
