Mixburn Hutterite Colony in Minburn, Alberta, was founded in 1960 as a division from the Holt Hutterite Colony.

Daughter colonies of the Mixburn Hutterite Colony include: South Peace Hutterite Colony (Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada); and Winding River Hutterite Colony (Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, Canada).

In 2017 the Mixburn Hutterite Colony was a Dariusleut colony.
