Geleyn Cornelis (d. 1572)
Geleyn Cornelis, an Anabaptist martyr, a shoemaker by trade, from Middelharnis, Dutch province of South Holland, was seized on 5 August 1572, on the Nieuwvaert at Klundert near Breda with six brethren and several sisters who were engaged in worship. There were perhaps 100 brethren and sisters together, but most were able to escape; the captured women also escaped. After ruthless, brutal torture by Alba's executioners the six were burned at the stake 7 August at Breda.
