Zeyersvorderkampen (Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland)
Zeyersvorderkampen (Zeyers-Vorderkampen, also known as Zeyervorderkampen; now known as Kępiny Małe; coordinates: 54.22736, 19.274096 [54° 13′ 38″ N, 19° 16′ 26″ E]; population in 1905, 436; in 2012, 440), is located approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) north-west of Elblag (Elbing), 11 km. (7 mi.) east of Nowy Dwór Gdański (Tiegenhof), 26 km (16 mi.) north-east of Malbork (Marienburg), and 45 km. (28 mi.) east of the regional capital Gdańsk (Danzig).
Zeyersvorderkampen was established in the late colonization period that started after 1700 and lasted until the end of the 19th century. Until 1772 Zeyersvorderkampen was part of the Kingdom of Poland. The First Partition of Poland in 1772 resulted in the creation of a new province in 1773, called West Prussia, in which Zeyersvorderkampen was located. Zeyersvorderkampen was situated in the district (Kreis) of Elbing until the establishment of the Free City of Danzig in 1920. The village came under the control of Nazi Germany during World War II until February 1945, when it was occupied by Soviet forces and returned to Poland. In 2012 Zeyersvorderkampen (now Kępiny Małe) was a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nowy Dwór Gdański, within Nowy Dwór Gdański County, Pomeranian Voivodeship.
The 1776 Prussian census does not list any Mennonites living in Zeyersvorderkampen. It appears that Mennonites began settling in the area in the late 18th century. In 1820, the village had 258 residents, including 104 Mennonites.
Mennonites who were residents of Zeyersvorderkampen were members of the Rosenort Mennonite Church.
