Starewitz (Jihomoravský kraj, Czech Republic)

Starewitz (now Starovice, German Groß Steurowitz), a village near Auspitz in Moravia (48° 57' 4" N, 16° 42' 16" E). Here the Anabaptists who emigrated from Austerlitz with Wilhelm Reublin founded a Bruderhof in 1531 on land granted them by Johana of Boscovice. In it lived about fifty members, most of them sick or children.
