Dokkumburg, Sjoerd Pietersz van (d. 1775/1779)
Sjoerd Pietersz van Dokkumburg (Dokkenburg) was a Dutch Mennonite minister, originally of Friesland, who served the congregation of Berlikum until 1731, Heerenveen and Knijpe 1731-1735 (where his work was fruitful, but his salary very small), Enkhuizen and Venhuizen 1735-1751, Koog en Zaandijk from 1751 until his death between 1775 and 1779. He was an ardent defender of conservative Mennonite principles. He wrote Eenige Artykelen van de Leere der Waarheid, die naar de Godsaligheid is . . . (Haarlem, 1743), De Gebeden van Jezus Christus . . . (Haarlem, 1745), and a long poem in the Frisian language for the dedication of the Mennonite church at Buitenpost (1742). This poem is found in A. Wynalda, Davids Liejdetot Gods huis (Amsterdam, 1743).
