Dobrovlany near Stry, Galicia, Poland (now Stryi or Stryy in western Ukraine), was a large estate bought by Peter Müller and Daniel Rupp in 1869. In 1871 several Mennonite families, mostly from Einsiedel, bought half of this estate from Peter Müller and founded the Dobrovlany daughter settlement. It became the center of a small congregation, which had its own chapel and (1888) a membership of 41. For a while the two elders, Heinrich Brubacher and Daniel Rupp, lived here.
