Swanton Mennonite Fellowship (Swanton, Maryland, USA)
Swanton Mennonite Fellowship Church is located in Swanton, Maryland, USA. The church originated in 1985 as an outreach of families from a variety of locations. The first ordained person to help organize the congregation was John Smucker from the Gospel Light Fellowship.
The first services were held 31 March 1985, with formal organization taking place 23 June 1985. Initially the congregation met in Deer Park, Maryland and Mountain Lake Park, Maryland before building a meetinghouse at Swanton in 1986.
In 2001 a division occurred when Bishop Millard Yoder and eight families withdrew to form a separate group that ultimately did not survive.
In 2018 the church had 61 members and was a member of the Mennonite Christian Fellowship. The ministerial team included Bishop Eli A. Hershberger, Ministers Jason E. Kanagy and Urie Kanagy, and Deacons Isaac S. Stoltzfus and John Beiler.
