Kluyver was the name of a Dutch Mennonite family, many members of which were living at Koog aan de Zaan, Dutch province of North Holland, in the 18th and 19th century, where they were merchants and oil-millers. From this family numerous descendants, who spell their name Kliewer, are found in Prussia, Russia, and North America.
