Benjamin (Beniam) Kengel, a Hutterite, a tailor in Sobotište, Hungary, left the brotherhood in June 1645 because he thought outward usages were not necessary to a Christian. He won a following, but after his death most of his adherents returned to the brotherhood. Against him Ehrenpreis wrote Antwort und Widerlegung der irrigen, verführerischen und falschen Meinung des Benjamin Kengels und seines Anhangs etlicher Articul.
