Egbertus Marius ten Cate, born 6 December 1868, died 21 December 1926, was a Dutch Mennonite minister. After having finished his theological studies at the [[Amsterdam, University of (Amsterdam, Netherlands)|Amsterdam University]] and the [[Amsterdam Mennonite Theological Seminary (Kweekschool)|Mennonite Seminary]], he became a ministerial candidate in 1893. He served the congregations of [[Noordhorn (Groningen, Netherlands)|Noordhorn]] 1894-1896, [[Monnikendam (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Monnikendam]] 1896-1904, and [[Apeldoorn (Gelderland, Netherlands)|Apeldoorn]] 1904-1924. As the pastor of Monnikendam and later of Apeldoorn, he also took care (from 1903) of a group of Mennonites at [[Amersfoort (Utrecht, Netherlands)|Amersfoort]]. When this group became an independent congregation (1919) ten Cate served also this congregation until he retired. Ten Cate was much interested in Mennonite history and wrote many articles in the Dutch weekly, <em>[[Zondagsbode, De|De Zondagsbode]] </em>and Dutch non-Mennonite periodicals. Egbertus Marius ten Cate, born 6 December 1868, died 21 December 1926, was a Dutch Mennonite minister. He served the congregations of Noordhorn 1894-1896, Monnikendam 1896-1904, and Apeldoorn 1904-1924. On 24 September 1924 he collapsed in the pulpit.
