Jelle Jansz Schütt: mayor and leader of the Mennonite congregation at Friedrichstadt on the Eider, Germany; b. in Ameland in Holland, 11 November 1802, d. 18 January 1895, rendered outstanding service to the congregation in fifty years of untiring devotion and work. On 3 January 1886, he celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of his service. In the Hamburg-Altona congregation the name Schütt is also found among the outstanding leaders.
