The Christian Fellowship Chapel near Stratton, [[Ontario (Canada)|Ontario]] began services in 1967, and formally organized in 1974. The first building was occupied in 1969, with a subsequent building program in 1973. The congregation originated through immigration from [[Mexico|Mexico]] and [[Manitoba (Canada)|Manitoba]]. The congregation was affiliated with the [[Evangelical Mennonite Conference (Kleine Gemeinde)|Evangelical Mennonite Conference]] in 1969. The language of worship was English; the transition from German occurred in the 1970s. The congregation developed difficulties with the Evangelical Mennonite Conference in the 1990s, and distanced itself from the conference over a number of years. In July 2000 the Stratton Christian Fellowship was released from the conference.
