Büchelhof, the name given in a list of 1731 to a Mennonite congregation in Baden (district of Sinsheim), "two and one-half hours from Wimpfen a. N. toward the northwest" (Müller, Berner Täufer, 209). It was founded by Mennonite immigrants expelled from Switzerland at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th, who settled on the two estates, Oberbiegelhof, owned since 1329 by the von Helmstatt family (Zeitschrift für die Gesch.des Oberrheins), and Unterbiegelhof, property of the von Degenfeld family, or in their neighborhood; the latter was still tenanted by Mennonites in the 20th century, and the former was until 1910 (three generations of the Hege family occupied it 1822-1910). In the 18th century the congregation merged with Hasselbach.
