Jacob van Gershoven, an Anabaptist martyr, was drowned at the Steen castle at Antwerp, Belgium, on 17 October 1562, together with his brother Aert van Gershoven. He was a native of Tongeren, Brabant, and had lived for some time at Breda, Dutch province of North Brabant, and was a confectioner by trade.
