Osterfeld, one of ten villages in the province of Samara in the Mennonite settlement Am Trakt, which was settled in 1854-1873 by Mennonites from West Prussia, Germany (see Malyschna). Osterfeld was founded in 1872; its inhabitants were members of the Köppental-Orloff (Am Trakt) congregation, which had 1,535 members and 760 children in 1905.
