Genemuiden is a town in the Dutch province of Overijssel, situated on the Zwarte Water. At Bergklooster, not far from this location, a large number of Anabaptists, having come from North Holland and crossed the Zuiderzee by boat en route to Münster, were taken prisoner on 23 March 1534.

See for particulars see Bergklooster.
