Hans de Smet (official name Jan Symens) was an [[Anabaptism|Anabaptist]] martyr, was burned at the stake on 7 August 1559, at [[Ghent (Oost-Vlaanderen, Belgium)|Ghent]], [[Belgium|Belgium]].
