Keessen was a Dutch Mennonite family of [[Aalsmeer (Noord-Holland, Netherlands)|Aalsmeer]]. Since the 18th century usually occupied in fruit and tree raising, the family in 1957 owned one of the famous flower, nursery, and export businesses of this town. Many of its members were deacons. Gerrit Cornelis Keessen served 1798-ca.1830 as a preacher of the Nieuwe Vermaning congregation, as did also Dirk Aldert Keessen 1826-1856, Willem Keessen 1832-ca.1860, and Willem Dirks Keessen, Jr., 1861-1866.
