Johannes (John), Risser, a minister in the Mennonite congregation at [[Friedelsheim (Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany)|Friedelsheim]], [[Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany)|Palatinate]], [[Germany|Germany]], 1825-32, where among other things he conducted missionary meetings. Johannes Risser purchased some land and settled in Mifflin Township, Richland County, [[Ohio (USA)|Ohio]], not far from Mansfield in 1833. In 1845 he published a booklet on baptism, <em>Glaube und Lehre von der Taufe der Mennoniten in Deutschland.
