The first number of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Messenger was dated January 1930 and was published at Canton, Oklahoma, as a four-page monthly by the Workers Conference of the General Conference Mennonite missionaries working among the Indigenous of Oklahoma. To December 1938 it was edited by G. A. Linscheid and after that by J. B. Ediger until its discontinuance in December 1939. In 1898 or 1899 a somewhat similar periodical under the title The Cheyenne and Arapaho Sword was launched by the Mennonite missionaries in Oklahoma.
