Jakob Johann Dörksen, a Mennonite Brethren elder, was born in Rudnerweide, Molotschna, South Russia, 18 June 1853. In his 16th year he moved to Rosenort, where he was baptized a year later. In 1873 he married Aganetha Rempel of Rosenort. In 1885 they immigrated to Memrik and settled in the village of Nordheim. Here he was ordained to the ministry on 8 September 1885 for the Mennonite Brethren congregation at Kotlyarevka, and served until 1905, when he was called to Terek, where he was ordained to the office of elder by Elder Hermann A. Neufeld. In 1912 he moved back to Memrik, where he died 29 August 1930.
