Siegmund von Bosch was an Anabaptist hymn writer. Three of his hymns are in the Ausbund. Two of them are found in Wackernagel, Kirchenlied V: "Gott Vater, Sohn, Heiliger Geist in Deinem höchsten Throne" (No. 783), and "So will ichs aber heben an singen in Gottes Ehre." The third, "Fröhlich so will ich singen," was formerly ascribed to an unknown Theodor Bosch (Ausbund No. 70). Siegmund Bosch was also an elder of the Swiss and South German Anabaptists and a collaborator with Pilgram Marpeck. The Basel (1822) edition of the Dordrecht confession of faith contained an appendix of hymns which were usually sung at worship services; it contained the second and third songs mentioned above.
